LV Decorating, Inc. has restored many residential dwellings of historical importance in and around the Twin City lakes district in the past several years. A few examples of historical homes in the past few years and a current project restoring a historical building in Ely, MN are outlined below.
The Catherine Gray residence located in the Lake of the Isles area in Minneapolis, Minnesota built in 1907 by W. G. Purcell, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright is one of the historical homes renovated in the last 2 years. As the home changed owners over the years, many changes were made to the original structure including painting the beautiful brick exterior white. Both the interior and exterior required substantial upgrading and restoration. The exterior brick including the chimney, required extensive stripping due to many coats of paint. In addition, the brick was tuck pointed restoring it to its original appearance. All windows and woodwork interior and exterior were repaired and/or replaced as well as stairways, fireplace mantels, doors and floors. The entire interior was painted. See our Photo Gallery for before and after photos of this project.
